RICHARD C. HEURING, 51, of JACKSON, died Friday, Aug. 18, at home. Born in Union, he lived in Point Pleasant before coming to Jackson in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, deployed as a corpsman in the Special Forces. He was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman and motorcyclist with a special affinity for Harley Davison motorcycles.

He was predeceased by his mother, Ellie Foggan Heuring, and brother, Robert. Surviving are his father, Walter of Lakewood; his wife of nine years, Margarett Salomon Heuring; children, Erick of Eatontown, Dawn Bryant of Key West, Fla., and Jayson and Stephanie, both at home in Jackson; a brother, William of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Judy Bennett of Point Pleasant, and Barbara of Maryland; and one grandchild, Jonathan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home For Funerals, 705 Brewers Bridge Road, Jackson, with a memorial service at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Condolences may be sent via e-mail to www.ryanfuneralhome.com.
