Method #1 to prevent ads in Paltalk on Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. You should browse to your Windows folder (usually in the C: drive), then System32, then drivers, then etc; in this last directory (C:\Windows\drivers\etc), you should find a text file named 'hosts'; edit it with notepad (or any other text editor) and add these two lines at the end of the file :
Method #2 - Actually a more complete and automated method for method 1 currently for XP users only. I will put Vista and Win7 instructions online soon. Download the hosts.zip file by clicking here Open the zip file and double click the hosts.bat file. It will backup your current hosts file and install a new hosts file that blocks ads, spyware, and malware from hundreds of sources. This is effective for paltalk, yahoo chat, msn chat, surfing the internet , etc. This is a large hosts file and may cause lag on some less capable PCs. Read the readme.txt file for a correction if you notice lag.
